These are some of my favorite hymns, which I copied from one of our hymnbooks. Hope they are as helpful to you as they have been to me!
We Have Not Known Thee As We Ought
We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses. Neh. 1:7
We have not known thee as we ought,
Nor learned thy wisdom, grace, and pow’r;
The things of earth have filled our thought,
And trifles of the passing hour.
Lord, give us light thy truth to see,
And make us wise in knowing thee.
We have not feared thee as we ought,
Nor bowed beneath thine awesome eye,
Nor guarded deed and word and thought,
Remembering that God was nigh.
Lord, give us faith to know thee near,
And grant the grace of holy fear.
We have not loved thee as we ought,
Nor cared that we are loved by thee;
Thy presence we have condly sought,
And feebly longed thy face to see.
Lord, give a pure and loving heart
To feel and own the love thou art.
We have not served thee as we ought;
Alas! The duties left undone,
The work with little fervor wrought,
The battles lost, or scarcely won!
Lord, give the zeal, and give the might, For thee to toil, for thee to fight.

Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus
Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth. Is. 45:22
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in his wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace.
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conqu’rors we are!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in his wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace.
His Word shall not fail you—he promised;
Believe him and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in his wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace.

Jesus, Lover of My Soul
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? Rom. 8:35
Jesus, lover of my soul,
Let me to thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll,
While the tempest still is high:
Hide me, O my Savior, hide,
Till the storm of life is past;
Safe into the heave guide,
O receive my soul at last!
Other refuge have I none,
Hangs my helpless soul on thee;
Leave, ah! Leave me not alone,
Still support and comfort me!
All my trust on thee is stayed,
All my help from thee I bring;
Cover my defenseless head
With the shadow of thy wing.
Thou, O Christ, art all I want;
More than all in thee I find:
Raise the fallen, cheer the faint,
Heal the sick, and lead the blind.
Just and holy is thy name;
I am all unrighteousness;
False and full of sin I am,
Thou art full of truth and grace.
Plenteous grace with thee is found,
Grace to cover all my sin;
Let the healing streams abound;
Make and keep me pure within:
Thou of life the fountain art,
Freely let me take of thee;
Spring thou up within my heart,
Rise to all eternity.

How Great Thou Art
Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise. Ps. 48:1
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow’r tho’out the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
When thro’ the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze;
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
And when I think that God, his son not sparing,
Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to thee:
How great thou art,
How great thou art!
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great thou art.

Amazing Grace
Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? 1 Chron. 17:16
Amazing grace!—how sweet the sound—
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
Thro’ many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
‘tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my home secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
And when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil
A life of joy and peace.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sign God’s praise
Than when we’ve first begun.

Have you seen the movie amazing grace?

No, but I've heard lots about it. Mainly that it was good, though. What did YOU think of it? (Assuming you've seen it...)

I thought that it was very well done, though I havent done any research on William Wilberforce.
