The Ultimate Love from the Ultimate Lover, Part Two
This topic has captured my imagination, so you will have to bear with me (or maybe become interested yourself) as I continue talking about God's love.
God has written us a love poem. He has showed us how He has standards set for us, but He also shows us that we can't fulfill those standards. So, He explains in the second part of the poem, He sent His own Son to die for us. When Christ died for us, He set us free from our sins, and we have reached God's standards in His eyes, because Christ's blood covers up our sins. He tells us over and over again how much He loves us, and gives us the choice to choose or reject Him. What a kind God! He doesn't force His love on us, but He gives it freely.
When we take communion, we are told to remember God's love to us when He sent His own, precious, dear Son to die for us. But I would encourage us to remember His love every moment. If we remember how much He loves us, we will be more kind to people around us. We will remember that He has given us so much more than we deserve, so we will share some of that love with our friends, family, and even strangers. We will truly be salt and light to the world if we simply remember how much God loves us.
